Boy in hospital after road crash

AN eleven-year-old boy is in hospital after he was hit by a car while rollerskating in Bognor Regis yesterday (Tuesday).

The crash happened at around 4.55pm on the A259, Flansham Road when a Ford Focus, driven by a 65-year-old man from Crawley, collided with the boy who was on roller skates.

The boy, from the Bognor area, was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester with serious injuries. The car driver was unhurt.

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Jon Bennion-Jones at the road policing unit in Chichester on 0845 60 70 999, and quote Operation Goldwick.
