Boy’s leg broken in unprovoked attack in Storrington

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy had his leg broken in an unprovoked attack on New Year’s Eve in Storrington.

At about 10.30pm the victim was assaulted in School Hill before being left laying injured in the road.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 6’2”, with short blond hair. He left the area with a friend before police arrived on the scene.

A 24-year-old Storrington man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He was questioned by police and bailed until February 27.

Detective Constable Lee Simmonds, of Sussex Police, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a boy, which has left him with a serious leg injury.

“If you witnessed the assault or have any information, please contact police.”
