BREAKING: BMW stolen from Worthing drive

A THIEF broke into a home in Offington Drive before driving off with the owner’s BMW.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a ladder was used to get to a bedroom window between 12.45pm and 3.30pm on Friday 20 September.

When the owners returned they found expensive jewellery, electrical items and hundreds of pounds in cash had been stolen along with a blue BMW 3-Series that had been parked on the driveway.

The BMW has the registration number YG02 UWK.

Detective Constable Mandy Dunk said: “The thief climbed into the home in the middle of the day when there were many people in the area.

“Offington Drive connects with very busy roads so there would have been lots of drivers and pedestrians in the area at the time who may have seen the offenders coming and going.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area or the BMW being driven away from the house.

“Many of the items stolen are expensive. If you are offered jewellery at a price that seems too good to be true it probably is so please contact us.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 976 of 20 September or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
