EMERGENCY services are on the scene after the body of a woman was found in a shelter on Worthing seafront this morning (Tuesday, January 28).
Police, ambulance and beach office staff are on the scene after the body was found in a shelter opposite West Buildings, in Marine Parade.
The discovery was made at 8.20am.
A police spokesman said: “At 8.20am on Tuesday, January 28 the body of a woman, believed to be aged about 30, was found in a shelter on Marine Parade, Worthing.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious at this stage and the coroner’s officer has been informed.”
Eyewitness Paul Kelly, who was on his way to visit his sister, in Western Place, said: “There were two ambulances and police there, covering up what I’m sure was a body.
“I’m an ex-serviceman, so I’m not going to be having nightmares about it, but it is quite shocking.”
