BREAKING: Elderly woman injured in road accident
AN ELDERLY woman has been struck by a van at the Shandon Road junction, off Upper Brighton Road, in Worthing.
A police spokesman said the woman was conscious but had suffered head injuries. She was hit by a white Volkswagen Transporter.
The A27 has been closed going west bound but remains open east bound.
The accident happened at 4.10pm and an emergency care vehicle arrived at the scene three minutes later. An air ambulance has been dispatched.
