Police have recovered a knife, which is said to be up to 9in long.

Mr Standing's stab wounds caused his lung to collapse and damaged one of his kidneys.

He has had to have an operation, although it is thought he will survive.

At Worthing Magistrates' Court today (Monday, March 30), Strezov appeared in custody and spoke only to confirm his name and address.

He did not enter a plea.
