BREAKING NEWS: Second man arrested in Mark Manning murder probe

Sussex Police announced this evening (May 13) they had bailed the 49 year old after arresting him yesterday (May 12).

“Officers launched a murder investigation last June,” said a police spokesman. “A year on and despite extensive proof of life enquiries and searches, no one has reported hearing from or seeing Mark. His body has not been found.”

After making an appeal for information recently, it appeared there was a breakthrough in the case after officers arrested a 38-year-old Worthing man on May 6 on suspicion of the murder of Mr Manning.

Mr Manning, 54, of Brighton Road, was last seen on April 19, 2014, before his family reported him missing on April 22. They said it was completely out of character for him to disappear.

Both men are bailed until June 25.
