BREAKING NEWS: Three people charged with Worthing sweet shop robbery

TWO men and a woman have been charged with robbery after the owner of a sweet shop in Broadwater was robbed at knife point, yesterday (Thursday, May 6).

The shopkeeper at the Sussex Sweet Shop, in Broadwater Street East, was threatened with a knife, forced upstairs and bound with tape during the robbery, which happened at around 5.30pm.

The robbers emptied the safe and stole a mobile phone before locking the shopkeeper in the bathroom and making off.

There were no customers in the shop at the time and no members of the public were hurt.

Shane Dominic Brown, 20, Hakeem Omali Baker, 19, and Adele Brissett, 22, all of no fixed address, have been charged with robbery of 3,000. All the money was recovered.

All three will appear in custody at Worthing Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Saturday May 8).
