Brighton woman wins national business award

Emma Hynes, 27, from Lewes Road, works at Midnight Communications, Brighton and was recognised with the accolade at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide awards ceremony on Friday, November 8 at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel.

She joined the company’s graduate training programme in February last year and has worked on a variety of PR campaigns since then.

Emma said: “I am so honoured and delighted to have been named Outstanding Young Communicator. That the judges appreciated my ideas about ethics and PR’s role in society means the world to me.

“Midnight is an incredibly supportive employer and it’s a pleasure to bring home the Gold, carrying on a long tradition of award-winning PR professionals.

“When I graduated, I never thought I would find work in an industry that supports and encourages creativity like the PR industry does. It has been an amazing journey.”

Emma was interviewed by a panel of CIPR judges who were particularly impressed with her views on ethics and her dedication to professional development, leading to her being shortlisted for the award.

The judges said: “Emma’s passion for her work shines through, her campaign results are excellent, and she clearly has a good grasp on how to develop stakeholder relationships and meet the different needs of her clients. Emma is definitely one to watch for the future.”

PRide awards aim to recognise the work of PR companies around the country.

Midnight Communications was established in 1995 and is an independent PR consultancy in print, on air, and online mediums.
