Broadwater shoppers held on to Tesco thief

SHOPPERS at a Broadwater supermarket held onto a man who had stolen money from the till.

A man went into the Tesco Express store in Broadwater Street West on Friday, November 13 just before 9pm and asked for some cigarettes.

When the shop assistant opened the till he made a grab for some money.

But, shoppers who witnessed the theft held onto the man while the assistant took the money back.

The man, described as mixed race, 6ft 3in tall and wearing a hoodie, escaped and ran down the side of The Broadwater pub and towards Forest Road.
