Budding business owners turn out for Be the Business

Around 60 people attended the workshops, which detailed everything from starting a business to accessing finance to enable growth.

The workshops are the first step in the Be the Business programme, which progresses to peer to peer support and one on one business advice sessions and grants programmes.

The business support and business grants scheme will be delivered by a consortium led by the University of Chichester, with support from Sussex Enterprise, Branduin Business Support and MDHUB.

General manager of Sussex Enterprise Wendy Bell said: “The sessions are very good as those who attend can talk to people who have been there and done it.

“We have had a series of seminars, including setting up a business to accessing finance for growing businesses.

“The event has also been supported really well by Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce.”

The sessions were run free of charge, in line with Enterprise Week – part of the 21 days campaign.

Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce chief executive Tina Tilley said it was encouraging to see people of all ages looking to set up their own businesses.

She said: “Whether people want to be a big business or a smaller lifestyle business, there has been useful advice and support on offer at these events.

“There has been a very good turnout and I hope they will all attend the Business Showcase on Thursday and share in the successes of the area.”
