Building destroyed in Clapham fire: pictures show extent of damage

A building in Clapham has been destroyed by a fire, according to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokesman said: “We were called just after 11.30am on Wednesday, December 4, to reports of a wooden outbuilding well alight on Holt Lane, Clapham. Crews from Worthing, Littlehampton and Storrington were mobilised to the scene where the found the fire spreading from the building to nearby trees. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire, which left the building severely damaged. The last crew leaving the scene just after 1.30pm.”
