Burwash

Mary Taylor, Holton Cottages

Life in Burwash seems a bit quiet at the moment. The clubs are all back and having their regular meetings. The only exciting event I have heard about in the near future is the annual pantomime. The BAPs will be performing Aladdin and the first performance is on Saturday 9th February. Tickets are available from the Burwash news agents, with all proceeds going to local children’s organisations.

The Burwash & District flower arrangement club will be holding their next meeting on Thursday at the Burwash village hall from 2.15pm. The meeting will start with their AGM and be followed by a workshop. The members will hear of the success of last years event, especially the coffee morning which coincided with the display in the news agents window, and the two Christmas trees at the festival of St Bartholomew’s Church. They are always pleased to welcome new members and visitors to their meetings.

The next monthly whist drive will be held on Thursday evening at the Burwash village hall from 7.30pm. An enjoyable evening of cards and light refreshments for £3 per person. These evenings are always fun and friendly with the emphasis on fun, and we are all at different levels of expertise, and will help new players to gain confidence. There is also a raffle and proceeds go to the hall maintenance fund. Please feel that you are all welcome to come along.

If you are looking at some fun ways to get some exercise into your life there are several different groups running in both Burwash & Burwash common. From gentle Tai Chi to more energetic Zumba. Evening for the youngest members of the family with Musical meerkats or the oldest who can join the Extend exercise group at the Burwash Pavilion in Swan Meadow on Tuesday mornings. To find out more about them look on the Village websites or look in the parish magazines.
