Cabin cruiser towed to safety - twice

A FISHING boat towed a cabin cruiser to safety just hours after it had been rescued by the Newhaven Lifeboat.

The Lifeboat was launched on Friday afternoon when the 28ft Firefly suffered engine failure while en route from Eastbourne to Brighton.

However, when it set off again it had to be towed back to Newhaven for a second time by a fishing boat when it broke down once more.

l A book sale in aid of the Newhaven Lifeboat at the Hillcrest Centre raised 172.

Upcoming fundraising events include a coffee morning at 2 Bay Vue Road, Newhaven, on April 12 at 10am, and a performance by the Brighton Welsh Male Voice Choir at St Michael's Church on April 26.
