Career for youngsters in Worthing and Adur

YOUNGSTERS in Worthing and Adur who are interested in a career with the police are being encouraged to join the district’s police cadets.

PC Michael Granville said: “The police cadets organisation is for 14 to 18-year-olds who are considering a future in policing.

“We learn about different aspects of modern policing and regularly have visits from specialists including road policing officers, dog handlers, firearms officers, detectives, drug enforcement officers and forensic and scenes of crime officers.

“We also go and visit prisons, custody centres, the police helicopter – and have a lot of fun doing it!

“Every year there is a camp where the cadets learn self-reliance, team work and leadership skills.

“If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to wear a uniform and protect the public, if you want a job when you are older where your decisions make a real difference, if you think you might have what it takes, we’d like to hear from you.”

Worthing and Adur Police Cadets meet on Tuesday evenings at Centenary House, in Durrington Lane, Worthing.
