Sussex Police launched Operation Magpie to tackle burglary across the county.

Detective Constable Chris Merryfield-Day said: “We believe the burglars approached the house on foot, broke the patio door and searched the home but then left and returned with a small black car that they parked outside.

“They then dragged the safe out of the house, loaded it into the car and drove away.

“Anyone who was in the area or passing by may have seen or heard what was going on. They may not know exactly what happened but they could have some information that could help us identify those involved.”
