Fearne became a patron of Tyler’s Trust after meeting 19-year-old Tyler Ellis through Radio 1’s Teen Awards.

The Trust provides gift boxes to sick youngsters at St Richard’s in Chichester and Worthing Hospital to help raise their spirits.

But last week Fearne posted a message on her blog asking all her fans to show their love and support for Tyler who is living with a brain tumour.

She wrote: “He is the most wonderful, kind-hearted and generous boy you’ll meet and his charity work has helped so many. Tyler is currently in hospital having a tough time and I know how much he loves receiving post, so I wondered if you’d like to send Tyler a card with a nice note in to cheer him up. It would be so wonderful for Tyler and his family.”

In 2010, at the age of 12, Tyler started suffering from chronic headaches and sickness. He was admitted to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, where an MRI scan revealed a brain tumour.

Tyler was transferred to Southampton Hospital, having surgery that night. But it was not possible to remove the entire tumour, and the youngster had a further six operations, leaving him in a wheelchair and impaired vision.
