Chance to inspire youngsters

VOLUNTEER business gurus are needed to help inspire youngsters.

Young Enterprise will run a series of workshops, called Sell for Success, at Steyning Grammar School and Lancing College, over the next couple of months.

Kate Scales, development manager at Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester, said: “There are a whole host of opportunities available and there really is something to suit everyone, from budding Lord Sugars to gardeners or drivers with a bit of time to spare.

“This scheme aims to attract a new audience to volunteering and to support local companies with employee volunteering schemes to find placements for their staff.”

Young people taking part will work in teams to sell a product, while being advised by the volunteers, and the opportunities are listed on the Skillshare West Sussex website.

Lionel Barnard, deputy leader at the county council, said: “It is a good opportunity to encourage skills and knowledge sharing in West Sussex bringing a significant impact to those participating in the scheme.”
