Colleagues at the Worthing branch of Chelsea Building Society, which is part of the Yorkshire, are hoping residents will pay them a visit to nominate charities and good causes in the community to receive a share of the huge donation.

All nominations received by Saturday, August 22, will then be considered by the charitable foundation’s trustees to receive a £100 share of the £100,000 giveaway.

Richard Davies, branch manager, said: “We’re really looking forward to taking part in this year’s Small Change Big Difference Week and can’t wait to hand over donations to successful charities and good causes in our local community.

“This campaign is a perfect opportunity to help some of the smaller causes that can often be overlooked for donations, and to whom £100 can go a long way.

“I really hope local people will take a minute to pop into the branches, nominate their chosen charity and support a cause close to their heart.”

More than three quarters of a million accounts contribute to the scheme, in which the pence in interest is donated to the charitable foundation, so the cash can assist smaller charities and good causes around the UK.

In 2014, the charitable foundation made 2,189 donations to good causes and charities in the UK, totalling £464,000.
