In the past year Worthing Churches Homeless Projects have worked with over 500 people.

To commemorate the number the charity gave local artists an anonymous profile of a person it had helped, and encouraged them to create a portrait.

The works are being exhibited at Offington Park Methodist Church, Worthing each weekend from June 22-July 7.

Claire Thomas, volunteer co-ordinator at the charity said: “It’s been fantastic. We had a lot of people through the doors to look at the artwork.”

Ex-Emmerdale actress, Leah Bracknell – who played Zoe Tate – created a portrait for the event. She said homelessness was a cause close to her heart.

Her piece depicted a client of the charity who was struggling after the loss of his daughter.

The event is free and artwork can be purchased by silent auction. Contact Rachel on 01903 286480 or visit www.wchp.org.uk
