Anyone in the UK can sign up to the Air and Home Care Brigade and compete to win a share of £5,000 worth of charity donations.

Sue Wellfare, who runs the recycling collections for the NSPCC Lancing District, said: “We are currently in third place in the leaderboard for this new Febreze Freshness Rewards Contest.

“We also collect on the McVitie’s Biscuit Wrapper Brigade, the Kenco Coffee Packaging Brigade, the Ella’s Kitchen Brigade, and the Tassimo Brigade.

“The support of the wider Lancing community can really help boost the amount of air and home care waste we save from landfill.”

To help, people can drop their used plastic air fresheners and plug-in refills, air and home care product trigger heads, pumps and caps and flexible home cleaning wipe packs into collection boxes. They are located at the Co-op in Queens Parade, Lancing, The Garden Centre in Findon, The Children and Family Centre at 42 North Road, Lancing, The Children and Family Centre at 42 Upper Boundstone Lane in Lancing and Sainsbury’s Lyons Farm.

The contest runs until April 30. For more details, visit www.terracycle.co.uk
