Players from the Raiders squad have stripped off and posed for the calendar in a bid to raise publicity as well as money for charity.

Five per cent of the proceeds will go to the Love Your Hospital charity fund.

Worthing Raiders head coach, Jody Levett said: “The idea initially came from the admin girls who thought it would be a good way to get a bit of publicity for the club.

Worthing Raiders player Charlie McGowan got behind the idea

“It didn’t take much persuading for the players to queue up and have their photos taken which was great.

“This wasn’t just a Raiders thing. We pretty much invited the whole club to get involved, well apart from the veterans. That might have been a bit too far.

“The players were given the freedom to choose how their photograph was taken so we have Charlie on his moped and a few of the kickers taking place kicks.

“We just hope that it is a positive thing and people get behind it and support us.

“We want to get involved with the community and we thought this was a fun way to do it, as well as supporting some worthwhile causes along the way.”

The calendars have been priced at £9 each and can be purchased at the Worthing Raiders home game at 3pm on Saturday.
