Owner Adam Rance said it was a great honour for him and Chipwick, which has both a takeaway and eat-in restaurant.

“It’s really good,” he said. “It is really appreciated that our customers have taken time to vote for us.

“It fantastic for all the staff and myself to be recognised as the best fish and chip shop – it is what we aim to be.

“Big thanks, too, to my staff. We have got a really, really good team of people who look after the business, they’re great, and thanks again to our customers.”
