The Crescendo Rotary Choir of Worthing, which rehearses at Sompting Abbotts School each week, is supporting the charity ShelterBox through ticket sales for its annual Christmas concert.

‘Christmas is A ’Comin’...Soon’, named after an uplifting calypso carol from the programme, takes place at the Salvation Army Citadel, Crescent Road, Worthing, on December 20 from 7.30pm.

The joyous celebration, accompanied by Worthing Salvation Army band, includes traditional carol singing and audience participation, as well as festive songs from around the world, including the Caribbean, Germany, India and Poland.

Crescendo Choir director, Alma Cronin, said: “In the run up to this concert the choir was invited to rehearse at Sompting Abbotts School by Headmaster Stuart Douch and singing in such an idyllic setting has proved inspirational. This year’s programme is one of our most creative yet.”

All proceeds from the concert go to ShelterBox, helping to provide emergency shelter and vital supplies to communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.

Tickets cost £8.50, and are available from Rotary Club of Worthing, or by calling 01903 239 230, or emailing [email protected]

To avoid disappointment, early reservation is advisable, as this popular festive concert usually sells out in advance.
