Christmas fair in aid of charities

A CHRISTMAS fair in support of two local charities is taking place on Saturday.

Mother-of-three Hannah Mackrell has organised the event at Oak Grove College to raise money for The Luke Cory Trust and the Chanctonbury Community Play Scheme (CCPS).

She said: “I would love for as many people as possible to attend this event and have even more families knowing about these charities.

“This is the fourth year I’ve taken on this challenge and I’m trying to make it the best yet with even more fun for all. This is a real community family fun Christmas fair with something for everyone.”

CCPS provides respite during the summer holidays for children with special needs aged five to 19, while the Luke Cory Trust provides families with children facing life-threatening illnesses the chance to stay at a holiday home in Selsey.

The fair will include a sensory winter wonderland grotto with Santa and his elves, stalls selling Christmas gifts, a photo booth, face painting and more. A café will also be selling hot lunches to raise money for the school’s profound and multiple learning disabilities department.

Entry is free to the event, which takes place from 12pm until 4pm at Oak Grove College, The Boulevard, Durrington.
