Christmas Tree Festival on its way

It's always a magical experience that gets everyone feeling just right - the Christmas Tree Festival at St Michael and All Angels church in Glassenbury Drive.

A theme of Christmas Around the World has been chosen for what will be the fourth festival held at the church, and as ever visitors can expect a stunning, colourful and beautiful display ranging from the simple to the most skillful.

Opening at 2pm on Wednesday December 2, the festival will run every day from 10.30am daily (except Saturday 10am and Sunday 12 noon) until 4pm on Monday December 7 and will again feature a special late night opening on Friday December 4 from 7pm with mulled wine and mince pies, and on Sunday December 6 a Songs of Christmas Praise service at 5pm.

Church warden Jan Sparkes said: "Come and enjoy at least 27 trees, cleverly decorated by people, schools and organisations connected with the church.

"Light refreshments and a Craft and Gift tree will be available every day with extra stalls, light lunches and teas on Saturday and Sunday.

"There will be an admission charge of 1.50 for adults but accompanied children get in free.

"The event is being organised to raise awareness locally of the church and, of course, for funds to maintain the building. Full details on our website: stmichaelsbexhill.org.uk."
