The guide is published by Rye Bay Marketing Group and gives comprehensive information about accommodation in Rye and the surrounding area and local attractions and places of interest.

Captain Pugwash is the mascot for this year’s guide and Rye Bay Marketing chairman Paul King said: “Selecting John and his much loved Captain Pugwash was a simple and popular choice, John was a true classic Gentleman; loved by all who knew him.”

Paul continued: “I can say we have never had so many people showing an interest in the Launch of the Official Rye Guide.

“Our aims are to raise the profile of Rye Bay within the Cinque Ports area; to leverage John Ryan’s extensive work with the BBC which is translated into languages beyond our shores as a means of promoting tourism in the Rye Bay Area and the Cinque Ports and to raise the profile of the Cinque Ports as a viable multi destination short break or longer vacation in the South East to both UK and Near Europe visitors.
