Class act hoped for Littlehampton school reunion

The class of 1994 – who are now all in their mid-thirties – is coming together to mark the 20th anniversary of the group leaving school, which has now become The Littlehampton Academy.

So far about 100 people are set to take part but event organisers Iain Colquhoun and Beth Davey are keen for more to come forward.

Iain said: “We’ve had an amazing response; it was a great year group and we all have good memories of our school days so everyone is really looking forward to seeing each other again. There is going to be a lot of nineties music, a lot of catching up and hopefully a lot of money raised for the Little Harbour Hospice - a fantastic cause.”

The event will be raising funds for Cornwall’s Little Harbour Hospice, an organisation which supports the son of one of the former students, Jo Hudgell, whose son Al has spastic quadriplegia, a severe form of cerebral palsy.

A Facebook group has been set up to raise awareness.

Beth said: “We’re keen to spread the word as we know not everyone is on Facebook and we’re also collecting old school photos and memories, so even if former students aren’t able to attend, we’d love to hear from them.”

The event is open to anyone who left LCS in 1994, or who were in the sixth form between 1994 and 1996 and to any teachers who worked there during this time.

It starts at 6.30pm on Saturday, September 20, at the Littlehampton Academy.

Tickets are £15 and covers the hire of the school hall, disco, buffet, contribution to the Little Harbour Hospice, and a local charity to be chosen by the school.
