Claverham celebrates as GCSE grades rise

The college was hit last year by the tightening of grades, leading to a slight dip in results. But 2014 saw the college return to form, much to the delight of Claverham principal Paul Swatton.

He told the Observer: “I am delighted with the excellent GCSE examination results achieved by the students at Claverham Community College this summer.

“This year’s results show a 6 percent improvement compared over 2013 with 71 percent of the students achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and maths.

“The fantastic progress made by all students is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by all students and staff at the college, supported by parents and governors.

“My congratulations go to all of the young people who have secured these results, which I am sure will act as a springboard for future success.”
