COMMUNITY STARS: Worthing doctors Health Heroes nomination

TEN years of "outstanding" care is how John Falconer described the treatment he received at a Worthing doctors' surgery.

To show his gratitude, Mr Falconer, of Goring Way, Goring, has nominated the Heene Road Practice in the Health Heroes category of the Herald and Gazette series' Commmunity Stars Awards.

Mr Falconer, 66, said he was grateful to doctors Nicholas Trounce, Ami Das, and Muhammad Hamid, who recently helped him recover from a "potentially serious condition".

Mr Falconer was diagnosed in December with a condition he preferred not to disclose, but says he recovered quickly thanks to the doctors' vigilance.

Mr Falconer said: "They got to the route of the problem and helped me get better quickly. It could have been a lot worse."

He also credited the surgery for helping him and his wife through various health problems over the last 10 years.

He added: "The way they treat and care for their patients really is excellent.

"From the staff to the GPs, there is a fantastic atmosphere of care."

Surgery practice manager Elaine Luxford said she was "shocked and delighted" to hear doctors and staff had been nominated for the award.

"I'm shocked '“ it's really nice to hear something so positive about us and what we do.

"People tend to complain if things don't go well, so it's really refreshing to hear such positive feedback."
