Poundworld has announced it will be opening its doors in Worthing, replacing BHS, which closed on July 30.
The value retailer, which is coming to Worthing for the first time, will open on October 13 and will create 30 retail jobs.
Situated in the former BHS unit, on Montague Street, near WHSmith, Holland and Barrett and Next, it will be the company’s 343rd store and is part of the value retailer’s expansion plan to open 60 new stores this year, creating 1,800 jobs.
The Poundworld Extra store will offer shoppers savings on leading brands and supermarket prices.
Dariusz Slabik, area manager at Poundworld, said: “We are excited to be opening in Worthing for the first time and to be able to offer local customers their favourite brands and products at the best possible prices.
“We really are passionate about helping people save as much money as possible on their weekly shop.”
As part of the opening, there will be face painting on October 15, with free product samples on offer and a guest appearance from money-saving mascot, Percy the Pound.
Poundworld is a leading value variety retailer with more than 340 stores and 6,000 staff and plans to open a further sixty stores annually for the next three years.
The new store on Montague Street will open at 10am.
