Contractors damage historic wall
A COUPLE have complained that contractors installing new street lighting in their road have damaged the foundations to the 100-year-old wall at the front of their property.
Susan and John Sherwood, of Gaisford Road, Worthing, say they were forced to pay almost £400 for an independent report into the structural damage caused by SSE, the company carrying out the work.
Mrs Sherwood said: “We are angry and it is very distressing.

A spokesman for SSE said: “The materials we have used to reinstate this excavation exceed the standard industry guidelines.
“We are committed to providing the best service possible and have been liaising with Mr and Mrs Sherwood since they first contacted us with their concerns.”
