Council welcomes school deal

WEST Sussex County Council has welcomed news that Durrington High School has been chosen by the Government to sponsor a new academy, due to be built in Broadwater, Worthing.

Durrington High School will lead a multi-academy trust, alongside Northbrook College, Brighton University and the Livingstone Foundation.

Peter Evans, cabinet member for children – start of life, said: “Durrington High School has a strong track record locally for working with other schools.

“I am delighted it has been selected to sponsor this new academy as I know that the school is held in very high esteem in the local area.”

“This is an exciting time for Worthing schools and I am looking forward to seeing the educational provision expand and grow.”
