Countdown to Worthing Birdman 2010

WORTHING Birdman is the town's biggest event of the year, taking place on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15.

Herald readers can follow all the action before, during and after the event.

Free inside the Thursday, August 12 edition of the Worthing Herald series is a 16-page programme with all the details needed to follow the flyers as they attempt to win the 30,000 jackpot for breaking the 100 metre mark.

Keep up with all the action from Worthing Pier with the Herald's online live and interactive Worthing Birdman blog.

As well as keeping readers posted on the live blog and through the Worthing Herald Twitter account, there will be live video feeds and mini podcasts.

Twitter users can also follow the official Worthing Birdman feed and make their own comments by using the #WorthingBirdman hashtag.

Facebook and Twitter users can add the event logo to their accounts by visiting the Worthing Birdman Twibbon page.

The Herald online team will be checking in between 2-3pm on Saturday, and 2.30-3.30pm on Sunday at Worthing Pier on the online location game Foursquare, in a bid to unlock the rare swarm badge.

So far only two Foursquare swarm has occured in the UK and just 50 people need to check in at roughly the same time at the same location, so let's make it for Worthing Birdman.

After the event videos will go online at this website, and a Worthing Birdman 2010 picture special will appear in the Thursday, August 19 edition of the Herald series.
