South Korean Ji So-Yun’s stuck the decisive goal on 36 minutes and ensured Chelsea triumphed in front of a record attendance of 30,701 in North London.

Blundell, 21, from Eastbourne, was a key player in defence for Chelsea during the historic win as she helped the Blues keep a clean sheet against a lively Notts County attack.

Leanne Crichton had Notts’ best effort cleared off the line by Chelsea forward Gemma Davison after the break.

The Eastbourne player tweeted, “Such an amazing feeling to win the FA Cup. So happy to win my first piece of silverware.”

Blundell joined Chelsea Ladies in 2013 having previously represented Charlton Athletic and Brighton Ladies.

She plays in defence for Chelsea Ladies but has also been selected for the English youth national teams.

Chelsea are third in the Women’s Super League One table, a point off top spot and have got off to a winning start in the Continental Cup.

They also qualified for the Champions League, Europe’s top club competition, after they finished last year’s campaign in second place.
