A police helicopter was called to help search for a missing Sussex woman.
Fatima Mohamed-Ali went missing from her home in Park Drive Close, Newhaven, sometime between 7.30am and 3.15pm yesterday (Friday February 12).
A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers along with members of the Sussex Search and Rescue (SusSAR) team had launched a ‘full search’ of the Newhaven area to try and find the 52-year-old as she had been deemed a ‘high risk’ missing person.
The National Police Air Service helicopter from Redhill was called to help earlier this morning.
The spokesman added it had now been stood down after it was unable to find her from the air.
Police and the SusSAR team are still searching the area.
Mrs Mohamed-Ali is believed to have left her house on foot, leaving her handbag and other personal items behind.
Police said she is described as Indian, 5’ 2”, of slim build with shoulder-length black hair worn in a ponytail. She is likely to be wearing traditional Indian dress.
Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 946 of 12/02. If you see her call 999 immediately.
