Cowdray Park ladies captain drives off
RETIRING ladies' captain at Cowdray Park, Sue Brown, putted out on the 18th green and the incoming captain, Frances Marjoram, drove in to start her year.
As it was Halloween the Ladies' committee dressed appropriately in scary witches outfits, and read out a poem.
After Frances' drive, 80 women and men played an 18 hole stableford. Results: Men- Nearest the pin on the 3rd- Ian Heustice; 17th Alan Austin. Main prizes: Ladies '” Nearest the pin on the 9th '” Terry Hughes; 11th Polly Davenport. Main prizes: 1 Solveig Burton; 2 Janet Poat; 3 Angela Pike; 4 Hannah Ralph.
Frances raised 700 for her charity, The Fountain Centre, based at Royal Surrey Hospital, for those living with cancer.
