Crafty way to raise cash for charity

A delighted Felpham woman has raised more than £550 from a charity event.

Kathy Lowe was is collecting contributions following her card-making morning.

She organised the occasion to benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer. "I would like to thank everyone who helped and attended and who enabled me to raise such a large amount," she said.

"I would especially like to thank Jan Malpas and members of Felpham Methodist Church who helped on the day.

"It was fantastic to see so many people making cards, many of them who have never done it before.

"We showed them how passionate we feel about the craft. We hope we have got many people hooked on card making."

Kathy (51), of Roundle Avenue, is battling breast cancer for the second time.

She began making cards five years ago after she underwent a double mastectomy. She recently suffered the blow of having another cancerous lump removed.
