Appeal after man photographs children and makes ‘obscene comments’ in Worthing park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man took pictures of, and made lewd comments at, a group of children in a Worthing park.

According to a spokesman for Sussex Police, the group of children were playing at Kitty’s Field in Dominion Road at around 2.45pm on Friday (December 18) when they spotted a man taking photographs of them.

They asked if they had done something wrong, to which the man reportedly replied with obscene and lewd comments, police said.

It was reported to police, who searched the area, but there was no trace of the suspect.

He is described by police as a white man in his 50s or 60s, about 5ft 9ins tall, of large build, with a large nose, a wrinkled ‘square’ face, wearing a mustard coloured coat. He was walking a dog of unknown breed, described as being similar size to a Highland Terrier.
