Alan Knight, 51, who has been charged with his murder, has told police that he took it and abandoned it in the Mitcham area of south-west London, police have said.

The van has not been located despite searches and detectives are now appealing to anyone in the wider area of south London and north-east Surrey to let them know if they have seen it.

Alan Knight appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, August 17 and was remanded in custody to appear for a pre-trial preparation hearing on November 4.

Anyone who has seen the van or knows of its whereabouts is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Sussex reference Operation Waterhouse.
