Appeals after Goring house burglary

POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary in Goring on Monday (October 24).

Officers would like to speak to a man who called at the door of an elderly resident in Sandown Avenue at around 3pm, saying his daughter’s ball had accidentally gone into the woman’s garden.

Once the man had left, the resident called police after discovering a small amount of money had gone.

The man is described as white, in his late 30s to early 40s, 5ft 9in with sandy or ginger hair, and he was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue-coloured bottoms.

Anyone who may have seen this man in the area or witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 969 of 24/10 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Sussex Police is reminding people to check who is calling at their door and to contact police if their suspicions are aroused on the number above or 999 in an emergency.
