Cannabis conviction for Worthing teenager

A WORTHING teenager has been given a six-month community order with supervision, and ordered to pay £50, for possession of cannabis.

Police executed a warrant to search Craig Duford’s Orme Road home on September 5 and found 28 wraps of cannabis, which will be destroyed. The unemployed 19-year-old appeared at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Friday (September 21) and pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug of Class B. Linda Arnell, prosecuting, said: “Officers found the wraps, scales and a smoked joint.”

Duford was also in breach of a conditional discharge from November 21 last year, when he was sentenced for possession of a Class A drug.

John Naylor, defending, said Duford had been trying to get a job but had “drifed” into using cannabis.
