DETECTIVES investigating a sexual assault on a woman in Worthing have released an Efit of a man they want to interview.

Police have just released detailed about the assault which took place in Lansdowne Road, near the junction with Heene Road, at about 11pm on Tuesday, March 29.

The 30-year-old victim, who lives locally, was approached by a man who offered to walk her home. He then held her by the shoulder and sexually assaulted her.

The woman pushed him away and was badly shaken, but was not physically injured.

Police publicised the case on April 5 but an Efit image of the suspect has now been obtained and detectives are appealing for any information which may help to identify him.

He is described as white, with a tanned complexion, aged in his late 20’s to early 30s. He is about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in in height, of medium to stocky build, with short dark slightly curly hair. He spoke with what is described as a European accent.

Detective Constable Jon Stadius said; “This appears to be an isolated offence. If you think you know who this man may be, or if you have any other information which might help, please contact us via 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 0433 of 1 April. Alternatively you can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”.
