Electrical goods stolen in Ashington raid

THOUSANDS of pounds worth of computer and electrical equipment has been stolen in a raid at a telephone exchange in Ashington.

Five BT Openreach EXFO testers, valued at £1,600 each, were taken during the break-in, which happened between 5.30pm on Monday (February 14) and 7.30am Tuesday.

A computer, laptop and other electrical equipment, worth £13,000, were also stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of the exchange in London Road between those times or who may have been offered equipment for sale, to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 193 of 15/02.
