Heavy police response to large group of youths in Worthing

At least six police vehicles were reported to have parked along Church Road near Tarring Recreation Ground yesterday afternoon (June 15).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers dispersed a 'large number of youths' at around 5.45pm.

Tarring councillor Bob Smytherman said a 48-hour dispersal order has been put in place from 4pm today and suggested the area had become a hotspot for drug dealing.

He said: "It's excellent response I am pleased all the residents who attended the Tarring Forum meeting on Zoom last week able to help us put pressure on the police to tackle this latest scourge of drug dealing."
