The following are the latest results contributed by HM Courts Service, for cases sentenced by West Sussex Magistrates’ Court sitting at Worthing and Crawley from July 17 to 22, 2020.

Craig Johnson, 31, of Hillary Close, Heybridge, was given a community order and must carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work after admitting breaching a non-molestation order by sending a threatening message in Petworth on April 17, 2020. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £95 victim surcharge, £360 costs.

Lachen Downs, 22, of Tennyson Road, Cowes, was given a community order and must carry out 60 hours’ unpaid work after admitting harassment by sending a text message and making verbal comments of an abusive nature in Bognor Regis between March 31, 2019, and November 22, 2019. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £90 victim surcharge, £350 costs.

James Armstrong, 31, of Fullers Walk, Littlehampton, was given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months with Building Better Relationships Programme Requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting harassment without violence, making unwanted contact via phone, text and in person in Bognor Regis between February 13 and 25, 2020; and assault by beating at The Hatters Inn, Bognor Regis, on February 22, 2020. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £125 compensation for the assault, £122 victim surcharge.

Slavka Toderenchuk, 65, of Sycamore Road, Bognor Regis, was fined £175 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drink-driving (77mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) on the A259 Chichester on April 4, 2020. He was disqualified from driving for 22 months.

Liam Watts, 26, of Medmerry Court, Selsey, was given an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with Alcohol Treatment Requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting harassment, breaching a restraining order, in Bognor Regis on June 21, 2020. He was also given a restraining order and must pay £128 victim surcharge, £85 costs.

Oliver Beamish, 38, of Stane Street Close, Codmore Hill, was given a community order with Building Better Relationships programme requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, and must carry out 40 hours’ unpaid work, after admitting assault by beating in Codmore Hill on March 19, 2020. He must pay £90 victim surcharge, £85 costs.

John Harris, 35, of Milton Mount, Pound Hill, was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement after admitting sending a series of voice notes via WhatsApp conveying a threat to cause distress or anxiety in Petworth on December 26, 2019. He was given a 12-week consecutive prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after admitting having a knife in North Street, Petworth, without good reason on December 26, 2019. He also admitted possessing cannabis, a class B drug, in Petworth on December 26, 2019, no separate penalty.

Thomas Hilton, 19, of St James Square, Chichester, was fined £138 and must pay £32 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting drug-driving (3.7ug/l cannabis) in Hangar Drive, Tangmere, on November 23, 2019. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Michaela Bridgewater, 23, of Charlotte House, Macklin Road, Bognor Regis, was fined £250 and must pay £50 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting assaulting an emergency worker, a police constable, in Worthing on November 5, 2019. She was also fined £250 after admitting drink-driving (63mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath) in Flansham Lane, Bognor Regis, on November 5, 2019. She was disqualified from driving for 20 months. She also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Worthing on November 5, 2019, no separate penalty.

Emma Tribe, 47, of Elm Tree Close, Bognor Regis, was discharged conditionally for six months and must pay £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting three charges of damaging a vehicle in Bognor Regis on June 12, 2019 - a Suzuki Liana, a Vauxhall and a Ford.

Alexander Chennell, 25, of Sussex Court, Brookers Road, Billingshurst, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and must pay £21 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting assault by beating in Billingshurst on April 2, 2020.

Samuel Heard, 31, of Tamarisk Close, Bognor Regis, was given a 17-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, with Drug Rehabilitation Requirement and must pay £85 costs after admitting possessing a 9cm bladed knife in London Road, Bognor Regis, without good reason on July 27, 2019. He was given a four-week concurrent prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and must pay £122 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after admitting stealing a lawnmower from Wickes, Bognor Regis, on August 25, 2019. He was given a four-week concurrent prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and must pay £165 compensation, after admitting stealing a petrol strimmer worth £165 from Wickes, Bognor Regis, on August 24, 2019.

Samuel Heard, 31, of Tarring Road, Worthing, was given a two-week concurrent prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, with Drug Rehabilitation Requirement and must pay £85 costs, after admitting resisting a police constable in the execution of her duty in Bognor Regis on March 4, 2020.
