Knifepoint robber strikes on Littlehampton seafront

POLICE are investigating a daylight robbery at knifepoint in Littlehampton yesterday (Monday, February 27).

The victim had left the Windmill Harvester restaurant with a bag containing a large quantity of cash at 9.45am when, as he walked near the Harbour Park amusement centre in Windmill Road, a man came running towards him holding a knife, and demanded the bag.

The robber punched the victim in the head, causing him to fall onto the pavement. He was kicked in the stomach and is then believed to have lost consciousness. When he came round the bag had gone.

Det Sgt Chris Leech said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, particularly if anyone saw the suspect in the area of the Harvester restaurant.”

Witnesses are asked to ring Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 0329 of February 27.
