A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a police chase in Worthing.

The man from Hove was arrested after the chase yesterday (Monday, October 10) resulted in the stolen Range Rover mounting the pavement and knocking down a mini-roundabout sign at the junction of South Farm Road and Tarring Road, outside Tesco.

The man, who is still in custody, has been arrested on suspicion of stealing the car, careless/dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Police were alerted to a black Range Rover acting suspiciously in the Bognor area.

The car was then followed by a police vehicle and the police helicopter, before it crashed at around 3pm in Worthing.
