A MAN’S nose was broken and his cheekbone fractured when he was assaulted after celebrating the new year.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 31-year-old was assaulted at the Teville Road junction with Railway Approach in Worthing, at around 1.40am on Sunday (January 1).
The man had been walking to a friend’s house having celebrated the new year when he was hit in the face with a hard object, suffering a broken nose and a fracture to his cheekbone.
He was taken to Worthing Hospital following the unprovoked incident, while the offenders ran off towards the railway station.
Police are seeking two men in connection with the assault. The first is described as white, aged in his late teens or early twenties, about 5ft 11in tall, of slim build, with short, dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.
The second is described as white, aged in his late teens or early twenties, about 5ft 7in tall, of medium build, with short, light hair and was also wearing dark clothing.
Both were thought to have been to a local takeaway prior to the attack.
