Man charged with attempted Worthing robbery and firearm offence

A MAN has been charged with the attempted robbery of a Worthing shop and possession of an imitation firearm.

John Towgood, 62, of Highlands Drive, Burgess Hill, is accused of attempting to rob Quality Cash and Carry in Teville Road, and using an imitation firearm to try to rob a woman of her car in Marine Parade on May 15.

He has been bailed to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 26.
